It's so true, and worth hearing again and again.

Of course, if I were feeling curmudgeonly, I might ruminate on how we don't always control how we make other people feel and how we can be received in a way we never meant to send...

but I embrace the idea. I do try.

Always try to think of this- I was an overly sensitive child, with very 'thin skin' as my Grandmother used to say.

Teachers of small children should remember this every day!

Thanks for the reminder, Molly. That is so true. I also appreciate Stuntmother's point. It is amazing to me people actually do communicate, considering what different ideas the sender and receiver may have. I agree that it take effort not to hurt someone unintenitonally. I'm squirming here, becuase I know I have done that. And Meggie's point is also a great addition here. Who had NOT been traumatized by a (well intenioned?) teacher?

I am writing down your quote to post on the fridge, and I'll try to keep it in mind this week.
