It started in kindergarten with pens and ink pots and blotting paper. Since then I've loved writing. Transferring the noise in my head to paper calms the chaos. If a worthwhile thought occasionally emerges, I'll keep it here with memories, stories and other random trivia, of interest mainly to myself and, with a bit of luck, to the odd passerby.
I took this picture this summer when Rise and I went to Sarasota. We found this imprisoned cherub among the trees on the grounds of the Ringling Brothers Museum. I think the ties that bind her are from a strangler fig----no wonder she looks a tad worried.

What a way to go!
Hm. I know it probably makes me really odd... but I absolutely love that picture! :)

Oh, my goodness! That's a find! Where did you shoot it?
I love the photo also, particularly the contrast of the messy/organic plant life with the hard concrete of the statue.

Interesting picture... I thought that it was figure on the front of a ship surrounded with fish netting
I had a fear it may have been a cherub on some gravestone.
There'd have to be a pretty good tale to get out of that one.
I've been gone too long! Lots to catch up on here!
One word... mid-terms (audible groan from deep within)...
So glad to stop by and visit!

What a remarkable photo! There's a story in that image just waiting to be told!
Poor little concrete angel!
